What Is ISO 45001?

ISO 45001 is an internationally recognized standard of requirements for an effective Occupational Health & Safety System (OH&S).

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) introduced the standard to help organizations with a comprehensive approach to OH&S management. The standard was created by a committee of occupational health and safety experts and follows similar management system approaches such as ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.

ISO 45001 helps organizations with the framework to improve workplace safety and reduce employee injuries. It includes other International Standards in this area, such as the International Labor Organization’s ILO-OSH Guidelines, various national standards, and the ILO’s international labor standards and conventions.

For more information, please read our ISO 45001 Checklist. We have also created a guide on the benefits of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

Amtivo is accredited for ISO 45001 by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).
